In the spirit of Kevan Davis's original Zombie viral game, 'Reap A Friend' allows you to sign up to be a 'reaper', then lure your friends to a custom URL, whih 'reaps' them, and credits you another soul collection. You can view the top 20 reapers to see how you stack up against your friends.

FOX has decided to release a compilation 'best of' blu-ray disc of Stargate Atlantis episodes - and the episodes included are up to the fans! This widget acts as a voting-booth where fans can decide which episodes they most want to see included. It checks ip and email addresses in order to reduce spamming votes, and talks back and forth with the database to display current voting status.

Annually CMD puts a holiday greeting site for its extended family of clients and coworkers - in '08 I had the pleasure of doing the programming for it. The interface is based on the idea of an advent calendar, and on each day in December a corresponding hotspot would become active, allowing viewers to progressivly wander through all of the holiday content featured on the site. I built out content 'templates' for each commonly-featured content type, then handed them off to another developer to populate for each day accordingly. I'd recommend taking a break from my portfolio and taking a moment to look through the various days - the videos in particular are really good. The background illustration was done by the talented Thorin Nielson.

A cross-promotional flash microsite, focusing on the new Star Trek movie - includes 'unlockable' (by taking the quiz) downloadables, integration with database for signup and sweepstakes enterancce functionality, and some sweet graphic effects. Sneakily loading some of the assets in the background while the viewer is otherwise engaged interacting with the current page allowed us to use higher quality graphics without sacraficing too time waiting to preload.

This flash widget showcased the world of Stargate Atlantis, and promoted the release of season 4. It featured externalized video, text, and grahpics, as well as implemented a embed-code generating service called 'gigya'.

Live Site URL: stargatehub.com/baalwidget
This flash widget showcased Ba'al, the protagonist of the Stargate Continuum film, and promoted the upcomming DVD/Blu-ray release. It implemented a embed-code generating service called 'gigya' to better facilitate the spread of the widget.

This was a simple and fun little site - originally it was designed to keep tally of votes for 'wedding gifts' through a static text file, but eventually we changed it to be database-driven.

I wasn't as involved in the first phase of this projet, which involved preparing a batch of about 2 dozen static pages that were handed off to another company to be worked in to the back-end .NET system already in place for the existing site. However, once that integration started, I lead the development team that identified and responded to issues that cropped up during that transitional phase - I worked closely with our counterparts at the other company, coordinated resources and directed activities to ensure that the work got done without anyone stepping on each other's toes.

Under different circumstances, this project would've been really simple - a shell that pulls in modules, and a simple quiz engine at the end. However, the IREP Challenge needs to be translated in to a dozen different languages - and all of this is handled dynamicly through a massive .NET back-end application, which generates an XML feed containing the translated contet.
So beyond the standard functionality for calling in external content and allowing the user to navigate and interact with the tool, I also had to deal with populating a massive amout of content as well as dynamicly loading and assigning fonts to textboxes based on the language. Nearly all of this code had to be written from scratch.
The nature of the Challenge calls for a new revision every month, and I've been working on it for 3 months.

The door decor tool simply assists potential door buyers to envision a Jeld-Wen door on their own home - they pick a facade style, a door style, and a seasonal decoration peice (mostly in the form of evergreen swags), then are given information about the selections they've made, as well as a prompt to begin the process of purchasing.

This website was big and complicated, and I would never have been able to do it on my own. I was part of a great team, including: an account director, producer, creative director, technical director, lead devloper, flash designer, writer, and several others. Together we created a site that helpd establish the client's brand identity and position as major player in their field. Noteable areas that I had the most impact on were the semantic xhtml and css templates, javscript sorting of various tabular data sections, javscript handling of the salesmap navigation, and structure of the xst templates used to validate the content feed from the client's homemade CMS.

The Alliance Portal was an earlier project I worked on at CMD for Spectrus Group. I provided the initial xhtml and css templates, then coded the javascript functionality and helped fill out the rest of the page styles and content markup.

I came late to this project to help clean up some of the markup, create a set of styles that would work cross-browser, and code some javascript functionality.

Another AIPD web-raising project - I worked with other students to design, develop, and deploy the website in only one day.

Live Site URL: portlandfestivalsymphony.org
This was a fun project I participated in as part of AIPD's annual 'web-raising' event - together with a team of about a dozen other designers and developers, we crafted an entire site for the local group in the space of one day, about 12 hours worth of work.
